Williams Racing F1 Team & STEM Education
Williams Racing is providing increased access to the motorsport industry through quality STEM education delivered via our esports program. Our commitment to showcasing STEM careers aligns with SDG4, Quality Education, and has been advanced through two initiatives this year, which target new career pathways and accelerated real-world skills. The first is born from a unique partnership between Williams Racing, British Esports, and over 100 education providers in the UK – including Loughborough College. In this project, Williams Racing has supported the Pearson Esports Level 3 BTEC to help students engage with course content and develop work experience and placement opportunities in this rapidly expanding sector. The second initiative is the Williams Autosport Young Engineer of the Future Award, which in 2022 was relaunched to focus on esports. Candidates first work in race engineering for Williams esports before crossing over to support trackside in a junior category, with the winner then attending an in-season test to support our Formula 1 team. Williams Racing is firmly committed to supporting STEM education. We want to make motorsport as accessible as possible and sim racing provides an excellent vehicle for us to do so.
